Speaking of tile installs, look at this floor we finished!

I just got done blogging about a few tiles that we installed in a customer tub shower enclosure…but now let’s take a look at a few bigger projects that we have just completed!

It’s not always the most comfortable being on your knees for extended periods of time, but after a few huge tile jobs it seems that I’m starting to toughen up a bit.  Here’s a kitchen and dining room tile install that we completed a few weeks ago, and it turned out great.  In fact, this was a “flip house” and it sold quick.  A few upgrades and modifications – it’s amazing what a facelift will do for a house:

There are multiple steps to installing a large ceramic or porcelain tile floor – and the key is the preparation.  It’s typical with most projects, but a level floor makes all the difference.  This floor needed a complete underlayment and backboard installed, mudded and prepped before we could get to the tile floor lay.  It made all the difference.

Cracked tiles? Not for much longer!

Good morning! It’s been a while since I’ve blogged…and that’s not good.  As a professional blogger something just isn’t right until your hands start typing away.  Recently my hands have been busy working swinging a hammer…which also has it’s rewards.  But this just feels right!

We have finished a lot of different projects here at KC Key Solutions in the last several months, and today I’m going to talk about tile.

If you’ve got a single cracked tile, or need a whole kitchen tile floor installed, you can count on us to get the job done.  Here’s a picture of a bathtub wall that I popped out a few cracked tiles, and prepared it for new replacements:

And once we finished setting own the new tiles, it looked like this:

After a day of drying, the entire surround needed to be grouted and this customer was back in business.  How do we replace one tile at a time in an existing installation?  Very carefully!

From “handyman” repairs like this one to full remodels, we’re your experts here at KC Key Solutions.  Give us a call!  913-686-6278.

Have a good morning…Ryan

Bathroom stubs in the basement – we’re on it!

Hello there friends,

We’ve been busy at it remodeling a couple of basements in the area…and recently we needed to do a little extra work and jack hammer out the concrete to get to move the sewer pipes per a customer request!  Here’s a shot ready for our plumber to come in:

I know that it might be hard to tell, but this will actually end up being a shower drain and we are installing an acrylic enclosure over it this week.  Sometimes our customers don’t realize what it takes to add a shower in a basement…and sometimes it starts with the jackhammer and a little elbow grease.

I’ll take a picture of the shower after it’s installed, and probably take a shower because I’ll need it 😉

Thank you everyone, I’ll be back soon!  Ryan

It’s the busy season for construction.

Hello again my friends…there’s another reason that we’ve been so out of touch lately; it’s because we are admidst the busy season here at KC Key Solutions and we’ve been working 7 days a week to catch up! I decided early this morning that I needed to stop and get in the office to do a few “house cleaning” projects and to write a few blogs.  I like the “blogging” part of the business I need to do more of it.

Have you seen our trucks running around town?  Out fleet is growing and we are also NOW HIRING.  So if you’ve got a trade that you’re amazing at in the construction industry, give us a call at 913-686-6278 to set up an interview.  We need only amazing people to apply and there is a mandatory drug screening for all new hires.  We don’t do illegal drugs here, the construction site is no place for them, thank you for your understanding!

So we’ll be back out on the road here shortly and if you see us, be sure to give us a wave.  You’ll get a wave and a smile in return.  Until then, I’ll be headed back the the basement in Overland Park we’ve been working on in a few minutes.  These basements that we are working on are looking amazing!

Have a good morning, Ryan

Another basement remodel in the works!

Hi there friends, it’s been a little bit and I apologize.  Last week we had 2 houses to finish painting and also a deck on a restaurant; it’s been a lot of long days to get finished in time before the rain hit Kansas City Sunday…

Now we are working on a basement that was a blank canvas when we started!  Now that the framing is done, we are ready to hang some sheetrock.

We’ve started on the ceiling and you can see in the background the cost bar that the customer wanted in the back nook.  I think it’s going to look fantastic!

IMG_3768.jpg

Here’s the bathroom that is going in the back corner; the customer also wants lots of rock accents so we are prepping for that as well.  This is a huge basement that will work well for his three sons.  Can you imagine having your own “man-cave” as a high school student?  These guys are going to be the talk of the school (I hope!)

So today we are back at it…I promise that I’ll be blogging more and talking a little about some of the other projects that we have going on now.  Until then, stay safe, and send some band-aids my way.

Take care, Ryan

We’re on the Map!

Hello there friends – this business requires long hours and and it’s one heck of a workout.  Yesterday we were in the middle of a house painting job and we are currently stopped due to bad weather.  The joys of mother nature!

So this has given me some time to work on the website and do a little magic for KC Key Solutions on the Internet.

Screen Shot 2016-04-26 at 10.06.09 AM.pngI’ve got our new location listed in Google Maps and have submitted to Apple Maps as well.  These are important for our customers that are looking for us on the Internet.  I’ve got a lot of experience with the Internet and these things take some time…

Need directions?  Check out Google Maps or just give us a call.  913-686-6278.  I’ll help you out.  Stay dry!
